“For this work, I photographed the choir of baroque churches in Germany, Spain and Austria systematically in a frontal way. I selected these churches for their exuberance, as well as for their arrangement and for their saturation level, for their ornamentation composed by decorative, figurative and symbolic elements.

I photographed these cultural places in order to produce an effect of visual saturation. This profligacy of splendor contributes to stun the senses and at first glance provides an effect which tends toward abstraction. In a first step, the observer loses his references and after that he is able to pull out instinctively the concrete different elements composing the whole. The optical flatness produced by the camera looks like and references the “trompe l’oeil” technique often used in this type of architecture. The goal of this approach is to show in an analytical way the exuberance and the surfeit of baroque as a critical shortcut of the dramatic character of our current society. Doing so, I mean to have a critical look at the accumulation of spectacles in the present culture of our society.

My work is displayed in print formats of 120 cm over 160 cm under acrylic glass. This choice is meant to underline the exuberance of these places as well as of our contemporary society and also works as a small veiled message to the relics presented under glass in these churches.”

Really? I see this a lot, and I just don’t get it. It’s not that hard to have your life in decent order and to have healthy relationships. Its pretty easy (assuming you are not drowning in debt or have some mental illness). And yes, it is nice. I see so many of these posts and it makes me wonder: What the hell is wrong with the people on tumblr sometimes?

Okay. This was a little bitty cheesy at parts (especially where she says shes gonna give them hell), but in general I loved it.

This is bullshit. It isn’t sexism, its the truth. Many, but not all, of females who claim to be/do/know “X” usually are not “X”. (this is ofcourse about american females, I can’t claim to know about other cultures)

Case in point: Playing guitar. I have a female friend who can play guitar better than I could ever hope and better than most male guitarists I know. But god-dammit… For every one of her there are many many more women that claim to play guitar that can’t name a single scale if their life depended on it.

Let’s all not forget that Katy-Perry abomination “I kissed a girl and I liked it”. How many instances of “Oh look at me! I’m kissing a girl!” did that inspire?

So yeah, If a woman claims to be something, then I’m gonna listen and take her seriously if she truly is what she claims to be. But you know what sucks? I’ve met so many woman that truly are just attention seeking, and I’m not afraid to call out a demographic trend when I see it. So yes! Many many women that claim to be gamers are not actually gamers and are just obnoxiously going along with what they think is trendy. Hell, it so common its inspired the idiot nerd girl meme. 

Of course I don’t expect the gender-lopsidedness of this phenomenon to last for long. I have noticed more guys are starting to do the same disgraceful thing: claiming to be nerds just cause they watch Doctor Who or some shit like that. But yeah, right now, for the time being, there are a lot more females that do it then males and a high proportion of females that claim to do/be “X” (play guitar, bisexual, gamer, nerd, ect…) are usually bullshiting.
